Due to the large number of fake registrations advertising porn sites etc. I've suspended automatic registration from hotmail.com e-mail addresses. I've nothing against hotmail or hotmail users except for the ones that are here to cause problems and not actually participate.

If you've a hotmail.com e-mail address and wish to register then please contact me directly - webmaster@railroadtycoon.info and I'll complete a manual registration for you.

Also, if any existing hotmail.com users are having problems accessing the board then please contact me and I'll see what can be done.

It's a pain in the rear but it's also a common problem with the internet, scammer/scummer/spammer scumbags ruining it for the rest of us.

The "other" place got hit HARD this morning with a SCUMMER attack. This guy actually signed up and put up an add for cigs in several forums there.

This is getting out of hand. What Next :?: :!: :!: :!:

Usually we get cigs and occasionally car loans. Fortunately we've not had any problems with porn yet.

What next you ask? How's this.
I heard on a local consumer advocate radio talk show a couple days ago (Clark Howard, if anyone's familiar with him) that there is currently a bill in the US Senate that, if past, would make it a federal offense for TEVO owners, and those who record TV on a VCR, to skip through, and/or delete the commercials.
I know it's possible with TEVO, but I'm wondering how they could monitor VCR's.
How's that grab ya'?
This is not a joke :!: :!: :!: :!:
What is this country coming to :?:

I heard that, but I don't think it will pass into law.

I sure hope it don't :!: , but them Madison Ave. boys have got some bucks to throw around. That's how it got to the Senate in the first place.

I can just see huge SWTA teams (Should've Watched The Adverts) enforcements teams charging in "hup...hup....hup....hup", abseiling down on ropes into Uncle Dawg's house.... "PUT.... THE.... REMOTE.... DOWN...!!!"

With our luck they'll force us to watch, charge us royalties and then sue us for copyright infringement if we remember anything about the ad.

I'm waiting for the Recording Industry of America to sue a kid who sings along to their favorite song. That's 'unlicensed performance', you know.

Well, I can tell you (since we're in that business) that Madison Avenue and Jollywood damn near put a company with a great product out of business.

Anyone have a Sonic Blue? It's the forerunner to TiVO, but the original versions of the Sonic Blue completely skipped the commercials. It was 1derful! They were then sued because of copyright and other issues, and the company went into Chapter 11.

The new products that the company then introduced recorded all of the commercials (yuck). But, if you go onto E-Bay you can find some of the earlier products at ridiculously high prices (because they are in such high demand!)

Those of us with hotmail accounts that have already registered shouldnt have a problem though, right? Hope not :)
