Lol, seems a nice screenshot...

I'll try it out this evening.

I saw that over in the Gallery. I thought it sounded like a new map to me. Now I know where it came from.
I've already downloaded it. I'll check it out this evening.
When the time comes, where, and/or how, do we vote?
I've got to hold off on my entry, until I can get this anomaly figured out.

When the time comes, where, and/or how, do we vote?I've posted a thread in the main Map Contest forum covering this.

This map is very hard

I've tried it on hard with industry only, and while I thought I was doing very good, I didn't have enough money to burn track the connections... I did have 5 years of depression though.

Might try again with railroads instead.

Might try again with railroads instead.

Tried again with railroads (on medium diff.) and now I got the connections in 14 years and my CBV was more than double as needed...

Next try : railroads + industry on expert

hmm, that'll mean 3 replays of this map yet. I haven't ever done that before.

Great Map but too easy - did it in 10 years. I used Industry for 1st 18 months but reckon you could win more quickly just railroading. My only complaint was that getting to the town on top of the snowfield (Hilltop) is more a matter of luck than judgement and skill, At this stage I had to try four times before I got a line through where the station connected and it takes an awful long time to restart the game each time! When I did get what was obviously the winning tunnel (and finding the way was pure luck - couldn't repeat it!) it was fortunate that I had a ton of cash as the 1st station which said "Connected" when I was hovering wasn't once I'd placed it!

Anyway ythid map is in with a chance :P

Pretty wild scenery and good potential.

Now a few (strictly friendly) criticisms.

Seems like most events are hidden surprises; not for everyone. It also looked like some were very unlikely to ever trigger. Also you should have attempted to use more events.

Mtns are too boxy-looking. Although the start from inside a volcano was clever.

It was difficult to impossible to build stations in many cities. Maybe that was a consequence of the wild terrain. I was using 1.04 beta. Is there no reserve square feature in RT3?

Years elapsed in gold is out by one. Need BOY instead of EOY trigger.

Neither AI started a company for some reason so get hard level without it actually being harder.

I found it very difficult to build track to the mtn & valley cities. The track would not tunnel. For the both, had to do switchbacks in unlikely locations. For the valley, had to bld large station at top of first rise because track would not make the initial climb at all. Not sure if all this is good or bad at the moment. I couldn't find alternative paths in either case but didn't search forever.

Aside from the above, play was straightforward. As with the others I have played so far, it is essential to issue stock at every opportunity. Started with 2 iron, 2 coal, 2 cattle. A year later added uran and baux. Eventually trains. Built burn track to 3 key cities 12/2012. Was immediately granted $5M-didn't see why but who cares because I had gold anyhow, in 8 years, not 7.

On Hard, running 13 ET22's between 8 stations with CBV $31M.

Pretty wild scenery and good potential.Yeah, it is a bit wild :)

Also you should have attempted to use more events.Maximum for the first contest was 15 events...

Years elapsed in gold is out by one. Need BOY instead of EOY trigger.I'll remember that for next time :)

who cares because I had gold anyhow, in 8 years, not 7. Just goes to show there's much better RT3 players out there than little old me! :)
