New Locomotive Skins

Also up now is a pack of 18 locomotive skins. I hope there's at least one that works for you.

*** Historic ***

Class A1, not in apple green but darker 'Flying Scotsman' green with white, gold & black trim. Tender has LNER lettering in gold 3D. CAUTION: lettering will appear reversed from one side. The only 'fix' for that is to replace the lettering with a graphic.

*** Non-historic ***

Baldwin 060 - Green, gold & black

American 440 - Black & gold
American 440 - Blue-gray, blue & gold

Consolidation - Black with a lot of gold trim; scrollwork on tender

Eight Wheeler - Maroon and gold; arrow logo

Atlantic - Red panels and trim
Atlantic - Dark blue panels and trim

Pacific - Red panels & trim
Pacific - Dark blue panels & trim, gold 4-pointed stars

2D2 - Blue metallic
2D2 - Evergreen with black pinstripes
2D2 - Blue with yellow pinstripes
2D2 - Metallic copper
2D2 - Black with red pinstripes
2D2 - Metallic red
2D2 - Tiger-striped (not as bad as it sounds, honest)

E60CP - Gold with metallic blue gradient

I took your suggestions and reworked the Class A1; it is much improved. So you'll need to download the group just for that one. :)

My project for last night was a 'Northern' in shades of blues and purples with 'Northern Lights' lettered on the tender... it's beauiful. I'll probably do a group of 'Northern' locos before I move on down the list. Probably an evergreen, a variation on the 'Daylight' and maybe a Pepto-Bismol-pink one for the Flying Pig Line. :P

I finally bought Windows XP, so I have a system to run RRT3 on again.
And I see that your skins are very good skins.
My favorites are:
- Gold Consolidation
- Green Class A1 :wink:
- Blue(and white) E60CP
- Maroon Eight Wheeler (The default Eight Wheeler skin is one of the most boring in my opinion)
- Red Atlantic
- Tiger 2-D-2

Ooh Tiger 2-D-2 :o
That has to qualify for ultra-cool 8)

Yeah - I had a good laugh over it since I originally did it as a joke... but I love the little 2D2 and the 'Tiger' paint kinda grew on me. Has moxie! :D I love running my electrics on the East Coast in Chicago-to-New-York. Cheap, fast, reliable... what's not to like? 8)


Like the Northern, the 2D2 is easy to paint so long as you stick to the broad stripes. Let me know if you have a favorite color scheme and I'll whip one out for you.

CJN, the gold Consolidation is maybe a little 'bright' (ie gaudy) but I like it - I like to flaunt my 'inner tycoon'. The maroon 8-wheeler didn't quite turn out like I expected - if I had to do it again I might leave off the arrow. Did you notice the arrow got put on both sides... and on top? Not my doing!

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you like the skins, and you can let me know if you have other suggestions.


I was going to 'skin' more modern locos, but they have so many shades of color it would be a very tedious job.
