I love living here. This line is allegedly, the second busiest in the country. The busiest East of the Mississippi. We average a train about every 20 to 30 minutes, 24/7.
I have seen trains sit on the siding up to 24 hours.
One day, I saw two trains on the siding and two trains on the main, and they sat for about 30 minutes. Must have been a busy day that day, or problems on the line somewhere.
I talked with a CSX surveyor one day, and according to him, there is very little flat track on the whole route between Atlanta and Chattanooga, about 130 miles, as the crow flies. :D
Edit 1: Is it just me or is this site slower than it was before the move to the new server?

I increased my Cache from 4 to 10MB. Seemed to help on button loads. But I think you are right Hawk. His new server seems to have to go through a couple a more spurs before it hits the main line. :?

It is much faster for me now but loading was so very slow before.
It must now be normally slow, not double extra very very very slow. :(

For us on this side of the pond, remember that the server is in Ireland, and it can take quite a bit longer to route data from to and from there. It's always been somewhat slow for me to connect, but since the change it seems a bit slower than before.

Yes folks, performance has been a bit shonky (Scottish word - closest meaning... eratic/problematic) mostly due to the load on the server from the other large forum website... How large? 14,000+ registered users with around 150 users and 150 guests online at any one time.
The server is due to have an additional 512Mb of RAM added in the next couple of hours, so hopefully that will increase performance significantly. If it doesn't then I've always the option of moving the site back to the old server.
Watch this thread (http://www.railroadtycoon.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=78) for more details.

That's "SCUMMER" Hawk (all caps). Time for Station Master to kick him off the platform, hopefully when a P8 is coming full speed.
Not too sure about Bente8 either. Did you check out his "so called" web page? Looks like a SCUMMER if you ask me. :x
