Ok folks, if you're reading this then you're on the new server :)

The old server that the site was running on was OLD, I'm talking SERIOUSLY OLD and was just running out of steam, so now we've entered the electric age and moved to a new Celeron server in Ireland.

The new server is state of the art hardware in a state of the art facility about 9 miles from my house, so I can go and visit it and stroke it and touch it.

Please let me know if anything got broken during the move.... you know what these removal companies are like ;)

Well I've been making some changes to the back end server that handles the forum and the performance should be rather good now.

We're sharing a server with a motorsport forum that has on average 200+ users browsing it at any one time. So if anyone is a motorsport head check out www.ten-tenths.com (Shameless Plug!)

The server has been changed from a 400Mhz Pentium II with 128Mb of RAM to a Celeron 1.8Ghz with 512Mb of RAM (And hopefully another 512Mb beng added on Monday)

Hopefully when this work is completed there should be a noticable increase in speed for users on cable or DSL links. Probably less so for users on dialup.

Monday 11th the RAM in the server was increased to 1Gb and everything seems to be stable and running smoothly now.
