Over Wednesday and Thursday (7th/8th July) UK and especially England had some severe weather. This resulted in trees being blown into power lines and loss of power to parts of the country.
The hosting facility where this server resides did a great job of keeping electricity to the facility but there was an outage. This resulted in the server re-booting without data loss :)
At the time of typing (6:43pm BST) the facility has lost all external power and is currently running on their backup generators. The generators have been "hot-fueled" and should have around 12 hours runtime, they are due to be re-fueled in about 6-8 hours. So hopefully there will be no more outages.
