Hello

I like the idea of Railwaystories and Sodor. It would make an interesting railway scenery.

I have only quickly glanced the skins, but it seems that you have used some kind of half-transparent layer to re-colour the engines. In some areas it works quite well, however as the models are Thomas’ friends, toyish look is not a problem. In fact, it would be quite desirable. I wouldn’t try to retain original detail and would just paint the engines with bright colours. (as you have used)

I personally have found it easier to paint over the details, and then re-draw those myself how I see it best. I don’t know which paint program you are using. I am myself using Pain Shop Pro 7. It has number of features and pre-designed shapes, which help me to paint detail. Nevertheless, I am still only learning how to re-skin the engines.

Too bad that the RRT3 doesn’t have a tank engine, so Thomas can’t be done. :( In fact, a tank engine from 20-30’s is on top of my wish list of new engines. (besides of TGV of course)

Hi ColdDarkParanoia, thanks for Thomas`s friends :)
I downloaded them a couple of weeks ago but have only just gotten around to installing them.
I must say they are nice!
Gordon hauling the express through `Helenstown` this morning certainly made the locals stop and stare
I hope you do more and if you do ever get around to doing Sodar please let us know.I for one would be very interested.I fancied having a go at that myself but have no plans for it.I have always been impressed though by he layout used in the tv series.I was just watching `The Flying Kipper` episode just the other day :)
Thanks again.

Hello, I know I am late getting this, but I just bought this game to play with my daughters who love Thomas the Train and I was excited to see this post.

My first question, being new, is how do I use these skins? I would love to see more, if you make them, including if you make the Isle of Sodor for them too. Thanks for the great work.

Thanks :) yea i gave modding rt3 a break as i couldn't find the nessersery tools to create new models and put them in, i could only do skins and was running out of engines that had resembalence to the tank engines from Thomas the tank engine and friends.

In order for the skins to work you need to download Coast to Coast expansion pack, then is should be a simple case of following the instructions in the readme, (i can't remember how u do it exsactly cos i havn't modded this game for so long :? ) but once placed in the right directory you just buy a train and click these little arrows that come up to cycle through the different train skins for that engine.

hope this helps :)
