That, Shattered Union, is the name for Poptop's new 3D turn-based strategy game, about to be released at the end of 2005 (2 years after RT3).

(NASDAQ: TTWO), today announced Shattered Union, a new turn-based 3D strategy game from Take-Two's PopTop Software studio, the acclaimed developers of the Railroad Tycoon and Tropico series. Set atop the smoldering ruins of a fictional United States torn apart by civil war, Shattered Union is an action-packed turn-based strategy game for console and PC.

"The developers at PopTop have proven their ability to create fun and exciting strategy games," said Christoph Hartmann, Senior Vice President of Publishing for 2K Games. "With Shattered Union, gamers will appreciate PopTop's attention to detail as they participate in heated battles set in familiar cities around the country."

In Shattered Union, gamers will play through an exciting single player campaign to reunite the country by force or online in one-on-one multiplayer matches. Shattered Union is planned for release in late 2005.

As a side-note, the site with the rt3 beta-forum (and dev_dan's starwars-guild forum) was still online when I posted this info, but is offline now.

The press releases still didn't appear on the take2games website though, so I hope they are not bogus :?

Dev_Dan wanted to build a Civil War Map in RRT3. Now I know why he didn't do so. Or, should I say he was building it but not in RRT3.
